Learn more about Nell Bank and what we offer the community
Welcoming over 24,000 children a year, Nell Bank is dedicated to helping every child connect with nature by running exciting, safe and educational outdoor activity days that inspire learning and inquisitiveness.
Our programmes are designed to deliver important social and educational outcomes. We ensure children are far too busy having fun to realise how much they’re learning. Come for a day visit that fits perfectly into a school day, or a residential so your class can enjoy a two-night stay filled with action-packed learning and fun.
We pride ourselves on being inclusive. It’s not just our site, activity and play areas that have been designed with accessibility in mind, but also our accommodation. Our site is fully equipped with everything you’d want to cater for a wide range of needs.
We are active within the local community. Whether that’s putting on themed activity days such as Easter Egg Hunts, arts trails, or simply opening our facilities up to local groups, Nell Bank is here to offer support when needed. Why not join our growing team of volunteers, to share skills and meet like-minded people?
Children from deprived areas of our community often don’t get access to green open space or to explore the countryside. The chance to experience these spaces can make a huge difference in a child’s mental and physical health. We’re here to make sure they get that opportunity.
Our Trustees are continually looking for help to develop both our facilities and programmes to give children a unique and memorable experience.
We are passionate about making the outdoors accessible to everyone. We remove barriers so that everyone who visits us feels welcome and safe whilst they enjoy the magic of Nell Bank. Come and talk to us about your needs; there should never be a reason not to come.
Outdoor learning is hugely beneficial for children’s physical and mental wellbeing. Access to fresh air, physical activity, and the opportunity to explore green open space boosts health and happiness. Outdoor learning experiences are a pivotal and transformative part of a child’s education that shouldn’t be missed.
Skipton Building Society's Commercial team had a huge impact for us this month! Thank you.
